Take a trip to the UK’s seaside

The UK is one of the more popular European travel destinations. There are many ancient castles and manor houses, many gardens, famous institutions of learning, unique and beautiful nature and, of course, great seaside resorts where you can spend plenty of time.

Brighton

Brighton is a seaside resort on the south coast of England, part of the city of Brighton and Hove, and part of the historic county of Sussex. The town has become a popular and healthy retreat. Brighton’s location makes it a popular tourist destination, known for its diverse community, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene and much more.

Blackpool

Blackpool is a seaside resort on the Lancaster coast in north-west England. Situated on the Irish Sea between the estuaries of Libre and Wyre, the town was a seaside town in Lancashire Centenary throughout the medieval and early modern period until the mid-18th century when it became a fashionable way of life for the English to travel to the seaside in the summer to improve their quality of life. As well as its sandy beaches, Blackpool’s main attractions and landmarks include Blackpool, Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Zoo, Sandcastle Water Park, the Winter Gardens, and the only surviving first-generation tram in the UK.

Whitby

Whitby lies within the historic boundaries of north Yorkshire. The Abbey on the top of the East Cliff is one of the city’s older and more famous landmarks, and other important features include the ‘Swinging Bridge’, which spans the River Esk and the harbour, and is protected by the Grade II listed East and West Quays. The town also has a strong literary tradition, featuring in literature, television and film, most notably in Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth is a large seaside resort town on the south coast of England, directly to the east of the Jurassic Coast, a 96 mile World Heritage Site. Bournemouth city centre has famous Victorian architecture and the spire of St Peter’s Church is a local landmark.

Scarborough

Scarborough is a small town on the North Sea coast of North Yorkshire, England and historically the northern part of Yorkshire lies at an altitude of 10-230 feet above sea level, stretching north from the harbour to the limestone cliffs. The old part of the town is situated around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland.

Newquay

Newquay is located on the North Atlantic coast of Cornwall. Newquay is a popular holiday destination in Cornwall and has some of the best beaches in the country. The town is also home to some of the world’s best water sports competitions, with the Surfboard Arts Festival and Surfing Championships held at the resort. The harbour town of Newquay has something to offer families, couples and large groups, it can be a cosy spa or a hideaway.

Great Yarmouth

Often referred to by locals as Yarmouth, Great Yarmouth is a coastal town in the English county of Falkirk that has been a seaside resort since 1760. It boasts stunning beaches, beautiful countryside and numerous tourist attractions.
